Our Story
On a warm evening last spring, we met for the first time on Seventh Street in Atlantic Beach. Simon was leaning against his truck, shoes off and ready for a beach walk, while Madelyn looked up to see him watching her attempt a five-point turn on the small beach road.
We laughed about it, then spent the next few hours walking along the waves as the sun set—talking, laughing some more, and testing out Simon’s night-vision binoculars (the nickname “Fidget” was immediately in development 🤎).
For both of us, it felt like anything but the first time meeting. We connected over a shared sense of individuality, adventure, and an unspoken longing to spend it all with someone.
And just like that, we became inseparable—ship schedule permitting, of course. We traveled to meet each other’s families, surprised one another, and spent many hours intertwining our hobbies (Madelyn can now make homemade tzatziki and Simon can find the exact BPM needed for a barre class playlist). And of course, we went on many more walks (or runs, when Simon had his way), starting on Seventh Street.
We fell deeply in love as best friends. Madelyn, smitten by Simon’s curiosity and confidence, and Simon, captivated by Madelyn’s silly nature and kind heart.
On November 19th, 2025, Simon proposed to Madelyn in the very place where it all began. It was simple, perfect, and completely us, sealing what we had already known for a while.
We are two people who have always loved deeply, for better or worse. Still, neither of us gave up hope on finding our love. We have so many of you to thank for that.
